Dude - I can agree there wasn't a whole lot of real "jamming" or far out improvisation after say 77-78, but there is some killer shit that went down, and sad to say '85 wasn't really it - well besides that Shakedown from Merriweather.

I think 85' had some special moments, The Greeks especially 6-16 and Riverbend, Hershey, Merriweather, 9-7-Rocks were almost as good as 77-78, almost.

Those were the years, I most enjoyed of the 18 I had /wJerry.

Wish I could agree with you - but to each their own.

Its likely easier to enjoy had you been there... I started attending shows so late that my only experience with anything before 91 is from listening to tapes. Which obviously opens up into evaluating everything on musical content without benefit of the "in the moment" experience.

Nonetheless 85 is a pretty ragged year.
